Technical Drape

Inspired by conceptual designers, the relationship between fabric and form is explored through the techniques of draping and flat pattern cutting. Using a photographic reference of a Vivienne Westwood garment, a pattern and final toile was produced, using suitable fabrics and appropriate cutting techniques.

 

Product Development

Working in collaboration with LS International, a complex corporate wear garment was developed. The purpose, construction and fabrication of the garment was carefully considered. Research into the market, through current and future trends was undertaken to develop a garment that is functional and aesthetically pleasing. 

 

Introduction To Gerber

Computer technology is used extensively within the Fashion Industry. The processes of pattern cutting, grading and lay planning can be accurately achieved through the use of the Gerber system. This project focuses on learning the processes of creating grade rule tables, digitising, digital grading, lay planning and plotting.
