Dedicated and passionate about Garment Technology with a desire to expand my knowledge of garment construction and pattern cutting. A keen eye for detail with the ability to translate initial sketches and illustrations into final garments. Hard working, organised and proactive, with the capability of working efficiently as part of a team and as an individual to set deadlines. Experience

Amanda Wakeley Collaboration - January 2016 – May 2016

  • Working in collaboration with the client Amanda Wakeley, two outfits were developed and produced to required specifications.

  • Patterns were created in a base size 10 and then graded both manually and on the Gerber system to a size 16.

  • The outfits were presented at two fit meetings to the company, from which the fit and manufacture of the garments were assessed and refined.

London Fashion Week Intern

  • Altering garments for models.

  • Dresser for the catwalk show, ensuring all garments, accessories and shoes were correct for the model.

Technical Intern

  • Writing comments during fit meetings given by the designer, pattern cutter and technical manager.

  • Photographing garments during fit meetings to visually document any alterations to be made, through either modifying the pattern or the manufacture of the garment.

  • Updating the workbooks with photographs and comments from each fit meeting.

  • Measuring garments against the required specifications and updating the workbooks.

  • Creating new specs for Autumn 2016 and inputting data from the range plan for each style, including technical drawings, fabric types, compositions, colours and components.

  • Creating copy patterns to be sent to factories.

  • Organising past seasons’ patterns, booking couriers and sourcing haberdashery samples.

Technical Intern

  • Documenting the agreed garment alterations during fit meetings for the senior garment technologist, through written and photographic evidence.

  • Checking garment measurements against size charts and design sheets to ensure that all measurements and features of the garment are correct.

  • Analysing the quality of garment samples received from the supplier. Recording the outcomes and emailing the suppliers with feedback.

  • Organising garments for fit meetings with their accompanying documents.

 

Somitex UK Ltd - March 2015 & July 2014

Design and Technical Intern

  • Designing and producing patterns for Childrenswear dresses, Spring/ Summer 2016.

  • Sourcing fabrics and trims requested by the designers.

  • Developing Adobe Illustrator skills.

  • Digitising patterns using the Lectra system.

  • Emailing suppliers for stock levels, placing sample orders and confirming orders of fabrics.
